About the Position
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Accounts Receivable Technician is responsible for the complete management of the customer accounts cycle, ensuring payment tracking, account recovery, credit claim processing, and maintaining professional relationships with clients.
They also contribute to the improvement of administrative processes and the management of credit-related risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Track customer accounts, process credit claims, and perform necessary reconciliations.
- Record payments and apply receipts to the appropriate accounts.
- Follow up on account recovery with clients while adhering to company policies.
- Analyze delinquent accounts and recommend appropriate actions.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account discrepancies.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Prepare customer accounts aging reports and produce various performance indicators.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounts receivable processes.
- Participate in the preparation of external audit files related to customer accounts.
- Perform any other tasks related to the position.
Education
- DEC in accounting, administration, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (asset).
Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or accounting.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment (asset).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of the complete accounts receivable cycle.
- Experience in billing, collections, and bank reconciliations.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Knowledge of Sage 300 (asset).
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Meticulousness, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Autonomy, professionalism, and discretion.
- Bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written.
