A family-owned business, Pastene operates in a dynamic market and continues to grow in several product categories such as tomatoes, breadcrumbs, olives, and fish, primarily sourced from the Mediterranean region.
Pastene is seeking a candidate for the new position of Senior Accounting Technician. A pivotal role, this position will be at the heart of the company's accounting activities but will also be actively involved in the analysis of logistics operations and sales.
Main responsibilities of the position
- Participate in the preparation of end-of-month financial statements (adjustment entries and regularizations)
- Manage accounts payable, including payments and transfers to suppliers
- Ensure tracking of receipts and cash flow (cash flow)
- Receive, enter, and track customer orders while responding to sales-related requests
- Prepare end-of-month analyses and reports on operations and sales
- Produce required government reports, including tax filings and certain tax declarations
- Prepare and analyze bank reconciliations
- Support the executive team on special enterprise projects
- Identify efficiencies and standardize business processes in the new enterprise system (ERP) - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Assist external auditors

Desired profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (or in the process of obtaining) or DEC with relevant experience
- Three years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Excel and the Office suite
- Knowledge of a central ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP, Oracle, is an asset)
- Interest in teamwork and projects
- Good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written)
