Summary of Responsibilities
The accounting technician is responsible for maintaining books, preparing and analyzing financial information, as well as ensuring fiscal and administrative compliance of the organization. They ensure the smooth operation of accounting processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of work methods.
Main Responsibilities
1. Accounting and Administrative Management
- Maintain books for all aspects of the organization.
- Track billing, customer accounts, and unpaid invoices.
- Make payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and employees.
- Supervise the collection of accounts receivable.
- Control accounting entries and perform year-end closing entries.
- Establish and document administrative and accounting processes.
- Propose improvements to optimize practices and eliminate redundant tasks.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of financial information.
2. Financial Preparation and Analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements in collaboration with senior management.
- Establish budget forecasts with the management team.
- Analyze financial statements and various ratios, and formulate recommendations.
- Complete a portion of the grant reporting related to subsidies.
- Manage and update the budget.
3. Tax Management and Compliance
- Produce tax declarations and tax returns according to standards and laws.
- Ensure that government grants are up-to-date and compliant.
4. Supervision and Day-to-Day Management
- Manage payroll and ensure complete tracking.
- Perform billing and financial transactions.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Participate in the preparation of audit files with external accountants.
- Establish and regularly verify internal control points (KPIs).
5. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with various departments and service providers.
- Use and optimize different financial management software.
- Stay up-to-date with laws, methods, and work tools.
- Participate in continuous training to maintain skills.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
- Required Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications
- Accounting degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as an accounting technician.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency in pivot tables (a plus).
- English (a plus).
