We are currently seeking a Financial Controller who will play a strategic role within the leadership team and actively contribute to the company's growth and success.
Position Summary
Reporting to senior management, the Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the organization. This individual ensures the integrity of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, and contributes to the optimization of business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of four (4) employees.
- Oversee the full accounting cycle and daily financial operations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage budgeting processes and monitor financial performance.
- Conduct profitability analyses, manufacturing cost reviews and budget variance analyses.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Oversee inventory management processes and inventory valuation.
- Partner with operations teams to optimize financial performance within a manufacturing environment.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions and tax authorities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and strategic business projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of accounting experience, including at least five (5) years in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- CPA designation (member of the Ordre des CPA du Québec) considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong knowledge of ERP systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is a significant asset.
- Bilingualism required (French and English), both spoken and written.
- Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills.
