Position: First Advisor, Segment and Product Analytics

- Compensation Details:
Business Intelligence and Analytics 19: Annual salaries typically range from $112,006 to $149,341, plus performance-based compensation, depending on qualifications and experience.
Work Location
- EDC offers a hybrid work environment where employees are currently required to work in the office two days a week. This requirement will transition to three days a week in September 2026 (subject to change).
- The selected candidate can work from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa (preferably) or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver.
- Relocation assistance is offered to eligible selected candidates.

- Team Overview:
EDC is looking for an experienced finance specialist who will play a significant role within the *Segment and Product Analytics Team*. This team supports the segments, products, and commercial sphere groups at EDC in producing reports and analytics, strategic planning, and portfolio management.
The selected candidate will provide detailed analyses and data on operational results that will support decision-making. They will have strong experience in financial services and practical experience in sales and prospecting. This person will be able to handle multiple matrix projects simultaneously and translate operational data into accessible and timely information that improves business processes. They will be an excellent communicator, not only with a natural curiosity about the causes of a situation but also the ability to explain them to different audiences. They will demonstrate resilience and confidence in managing difficult conversations, competing viewpoints, and demanding deliverables. They will have excellent analytical skills and be strongly results-oriented while focusing on quality improvement to enhance functional results and customer experience. Additionally, the selected candidate will have a team spirit and collaborate with other functional units to achieve EDC's general business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Provide strategic analyses and data that show the link between the client, segment, product, and commercial performance to support informed decision-making.
- Lead complex cross-functional and large enterprise projects involving multiple stakeholders and sectoral teams. Develop, enhance, and govern reports, dashboards, and analytical products for senior management to clearly understand performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and progress towards strategic goals.
- Establish the link between clients, products, sales, business plans, medium-term strategies, and performance sheets to support decision-making within the organization.
- Translate complex analysis results into presentations, recommendations, and compelling and tailored narratives for different audiences, including technical teams, business partners, and senior executives.
- Create and maintain advanced financial, forecasting, and analytical models to support portfolio management, planning, risk assessment, performance indicators, and commercial projections.
- Use CRM software (C3/Salesforce), prospecting, and financial, operational, and third-party data to identify growth opportunities, portfolio trends, customer needs, and business performance indicators.
- Establish and promote excellent data management practices, including data quality, key performance indicator uniformity, documentation, and alignment of reporting systems and operational processes.
- Manage stakeholder priorities and competing viewpoints professionally and resiliently, while focusing on business results.
- Identify and take on opportunities to improve business processes, customer experience, and global business results through data and analysis.
- Provide informed leadership, guidance, and mentoring to analysts and project teams to mobilize them, help them meet analytical standards, and sharpen their business sense.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of EDC's products (loans, insurance, and equity) and support for key performance and risk indicators
- At least 7 years of experience in project management and analysis, and resilience in managing difficult conversations, competing viewpoints, and demanding deliverables
- Proven ability to manage matrix teams or large enterprise projects and overcome obstacles
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to use Excel (including the ability to use pivot tables, VBA, and data management and validation tools) and financial modeling and analytical tools
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and workshop facilitation
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate complex information to different audiences, including technical teams and senior executives
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills and ability to advocate for new opportunities for success
- In-depth knowledge of strategic intelligence and reporting principles and practices
