As a key member of our service team, the shop mechanic plays a fundamental role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our rental equipment for our customers.

• Keep your workspace clean, organized, and safe
• Diagnose equipment issues and accurately estimate repair costs
• Inspect rental equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, and systems using tools (manual or electric)
• Test repaired equipment to confirm proper functioning and compliance with manufacturer specifications
• Perform the described repair work efficiently and accurately, in accordance with company and manufacturer standards
• Clean, lubricate, and perform preventive maintenance on construction equipment
• Order the necessary parts to perform effective repairs
• Fill out service reports and other documentation accurately
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective repairs and good delivery service
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a pleasant and motivating work environment
• Follow all safety protocols and environmentally responsible practices to ensure everyone's safety
• Assist colleagues with other related tasks as requested by the service manager and branch director

What We Are Looking For

• Mechanical Experience: Several years of experience in mechanics or an apprentice (3rd or 4th year) with good diagnostic and error analysis skills. Practical experience in repairing and maintaining construction equipment such as Genie, Skyjack, and CAT.
• Customer Service Experience: Excellent communication skills, ability to make the customer feel valued.
• Team Spirit: Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritize different requests.
• Self-Motivated Worker: Work with little supervision and have good time management and planning skills.
• Endurance: Ability to regularly lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Safety Importance: Commitment to following different safety protocols and environmentally responsible practices implemented by Battlefield.
• Technical understanding of CAT equipment, an asset
• Ability to adapt to shift work and received demands
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems
• You must own your tools for this role
• Mechanic apprentices are encouraged to apply
