Accounting Technician – Accounts Payable

Work Location

Our office is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We are seeking candidates based near Montreal to support our hybrid work model, with at least 1 day per week in the office required.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join an established Finance team and take ownership of a diverse set of hands-on responsibilities at the heart of Toon Boom's day-to-day accounting operations.

Accounts Payable Management

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle: coding, invoice entry, and obtaining required approvals.
• Prepare and process weekly payments.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships, responding to account inquiries.
• Monitor and reconcile vendor account statements.

Reconciliations & Banking

• Perform daily or monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and track missing receipts.
• Identify and correct cash discrepancies or journal entry errors.

Accounting Support & Month-End

• Analyze and reconcile selected general ledger accounts.
• Produce financial data analysis reports using Excel for management.
• Prepare tax reports (GST/QST or HST).

What you'll need

• You hold a DEC in accounting or have equivalent experience deemed relevant.
• You have at least 3 years’ experience in accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
• You are proficient in Sage (required).
• You have advanced Excel skills: pivot tables and complex formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH).
• You are thorough, detail-oriented and well-organized.
• You are able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
• You have knowledge of Expensify, Oyster or Remote (an advantage).
• You have experience with Microsoft Great Plains (an advantage).
