Underground Mining Machinery Mechanic - FIFO

We are currently looking for an underground mining machinery mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Inspection, modification, repair, improvement, and maintenance of underground mobile equipment;
• Planning and performing work;
• Detection and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues;
• Reading plans and preventive maintenance;
• Selection and installation of components.

Working Conditions

• Full-time permanent position;
• Work schedule of 14 days on, 14 days off (14+14);
• Work shifts are 11 hours, alternating day and night;
• Salary ranging from $41.48 to $64.53 per hour;
• Time and a half paid for hours worked beyond 55 hours per week;
• Paid flight time upon leaving the site (4 hours);
• Fly-in/Fly-out: Base ports are located in Mont-Joli, Montreal, or Rouyn-Noranda;

Required Skills

• Hold a professional training (D.E.P.) in construction equipment mechanics or underground mining machinery mechanics;
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a mobile machinery mechanic;
• Have experience in underground mining machinery mechanics, an asset;
• Be able to obtain a general explosives permit, mandatory;
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license, mandatory;
• Hold mining modules 1-2-3-4-5-7, mandatory;
• Be able to read mechanical drawings and have knowledge of hydraulics, electricity, and welding;
• Have problem-solving and teamwork skills;
• Be willing to work rotating shifts.
