Gameloft Montreal is seeking a new Lead Quest Designer to join the Dungeons & Dragons team. This innovative game will blend action-RPG/survival mechanics with unique life-simulation elements to redefine the genre and captivate the imaginations of players worldwide.
The Lead Quest Designer will be responsible for evolving and ensuring the quality of the project's quest vision and their seamless integration into an open world. They will ensure that quests support exploration, progression, and survival-crafting systems while delivering a cohesive player experience. Additionally, the role involves mentoring, supporting, and guiding team members through the design, iteration, and delivery of quests, while ensuring alignment with narrative, gameplay, and production objectives.
*Main responsibilities:*
- Define and promote best practices, processes, and quest design standards within the team
- Provide mentorship and guidance to production team members involved in level design
- Act as a positive leader within the team
- Maintain constant communication and regular follow-ups with various departments
- Collaborate closely with the production team and all directors and team leads
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience in quest design
- Experience in a leadership role is an asset
- Strong communication skills; interest in management, professional mentoring, and team leadership
- At least one published console or PC title in a quest design role
- College-level diploma in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Video Games, or equivalent
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
- Proficiency with multimedia software (Office, Adobe, Atlassian)
- *Skills and profile:*
- Ability to work in an Agile environment; unafraid of failure and able to bounce back quickly when necessary
- Ability to make decisions in a complex environment
- Open-mindedness and empathy
- Ability to take on a leadership role while maintaining an operational role on the project
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Enjoys teamwork
- Passion for video games and their history
- Good knowledge of survival-crafting games
- Good knowledge of the Dungeons & Dragons universe
- A vivid imagination!
