1. JOB DESCRIPTION BACHMANN DAMPJOINT INC. is a private design and manufacturing company located in Laval, Quebec. The Bachmann name has a history in the industry of registers and expansion joints dating back to the early 1970s.
We have earned our reputation through the quality of our registers and expansion joints and equipment specially designed to order for gas control.
We design and manufacture a complete range of products to customers located on all continents. Thanks to our modern and well-equipped plant, we are able to produce registers and expansion joints at the cutting edge of technology to meet the needs of power plants, foundries, steel mills, refineries, petrochemical companies, cement plants or pulp and paper mills as well as heat recovery and cogeneration facilities.
Under the main supervision of the plant supervisor and his team leader, the assembler is responsible for performing the complete assembly of complex metal and custom-made equipment according to customer specifications. The duration of the projects that will be entrusted to him can vary from one day to several weeks.
2. TASKS
Read and understand general manufacturing plans;
Perform welding operations on already assembled equipment;
Cut with a torch;
Perform assembly operations as needed (possibility of evolving towards an assembler position);
Work with a minimum of assistance and according to received instructions;
Work safely;
Perform all other related tasks; 3. REQUIRED SKILLS DEP as a welder-fitter
Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding complex and custom-made equipment (an asset);
Knowledge of reading manufacturing and assembly technical drawings and knowledge of all welding symbols;
Master the following welding processes: MIG, Flux-cored, TIG, rod
Have similar experience in the steel industry and technical knowledge of the following manufacturing processes: mechanical welding fabrication, forming, assembly & welding, oxy-cutting;
Experience in lifting large pieces using overhead cranes;
Good knowledge of the following materials and their behavior/resistance: steel, stainless steel, alloys, etc;
Excellent sense of responsibility, autonomy, and ability to be versatile and resourceful;
Great capacity for synthesis and analysis;
Excellent sense of organization and teamwork;
Openness to others, changes, and learning;
Excellent ability to manage stress, tight deadlines, and the pressure of an industrial environment;
Stand out for your sense of observation, rigor, and attention to detail;
Communicate effectively with all coworkers to better interact in your functions;
Good communication skills;
Flexibility, punctuality, and a person of trust.
