Herbalism and Horticulture Facilitator

The facilitator supports and guides participants with autism spectrum disorder or intellectual disabilities in the implementation and experimentation of herbalism, agriculture, and recreational activities.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Animate and participate in the development of playful herbalism and horticulture activities;
• Guide participants through various activities;
• Support interventions implemented by the management;
• Ensure the well-being and safety of participants;
• Perform various herbalism tasks: garden design and maintenance, harvesting, dehydration and transformation of plants, production cost calculation and analysis, product marketing and promotion, labeling, and other related tasks;

Required Qualifications

• Studied in the field of human sciences (human sciences, special education, social work, etc.) or have relevant experience in animation with a clientele with special needs;
• Must have good physical condition and be comfortable working: outdoors, with messy tasks, and with animals;
• Must enjoy working in a team and have a high degree of autonomy;
• Must adhere to the organization's mission and philosophy and have no legal restrictions related to the job;

Assets

• Experience in herbalism and agricultural work;
• Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or intellectual disabilities;
• Possess a driver's license;

Benefits and Working Conditions

• Schedule: 31 to 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, daytime;
• Salary: $21.75/hour;
• 2 weeks of paid vacation during the holiday period;
• Start date: As soon as possible;
• Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Compensation: $21.75 per hour
