The Property Liquidation Service at Revenu Québec is a team of over 24 people who contribute daily to liquidating unclaimed property by tracking inventory and processing and disposing of various assets found in estate or corporate files.

By working within this team, you will collaborate with your colleagues to tackle exciting challenges, such as complex transaction mandates and negotiation, sales, and cooperation mandates with various stakeholders. Respect and diligence are fundamental principles that will guide your daily work.

Your daily work at Revenu Québec

As a Property Liquidation Advisor, you will:

  • Temporarily administer and liquidate real estate by analyzing documents to ensure Revenu Québec's competence regarding these properties;
  • Coordinate the management of properties under your responsibility, including insuring, securing, and having them evaluated by an appraiser;
  • Hire real estate brokers to sell properties;
  • Negotiate and carry out any other sale at arm's length, according to existing policies or directives;
  • Collaborate in the processing of legal proceedings initiated against or by Revenu Québec as a liquidator or provisional administrator;
  • Follow up and control files requiring specialized knowledge in property liquidation;
  • Provide advice to management regarding larger files;
  • Provide expert advice on the administration and liquidation of real estate from estates or dissolved or masterless corporations, while staying up-to-date with new directives.

Requirements

  • To join our team, you must:
  • Hold:

+ Either a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or be in the process of completing your final year of university studies in one of the following fields or any other relevant field:

  • Law,
  • Administration, accounting profile or finance,
  • Accounting sciences,
  • Finance;

+ Or a bachelor's degree in any other field with at least one year of relevant experience.

Additionally, having good knowledge of various laws, including the Unclaimed Property Act, as well as those in the fields of real estate law and notary law, for example, could be considered an asset.

Additional Information

You must have Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a valid work permit in Canada.

If you obtained your degree outside of Canada, you must attach a copy of the comparative study evaluation issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration to your online application.
