Becoming a Materials Technician at GUAY means evolving at the heart of operations! You ensure the smooth functioning of the branch by managing supply, logistics, and general maintenance. On a daily basis, you actively contribute to the fluidity of activities by efficiently responding to client requests, both internal and external. Your organizational skills and ability to act quickly are key assets!
On a daily basis, you will be called upon to
- Manage the supply of parts and equipment needed for operations;
- Ensure the quality, condition, and availability of materials;
- Collaborate in maintaining the cleanliness and general maintenance of the branch;
- Track orders, deliveries, and maintain relationships with suppliers;
- Keep an accurate inventory of material resources and optimize their organization in the store;
- Conduct research on the availability of parts and suggest alternative solutions in case of shortages;
- Handle the reception, shipment, and internal distribution of parts and equipment;
- Analyze internal requests, identify needs, and prepare purchase orders;
- Plan needs related to tires and follow up on them;
- Identify new suppliers, negotiate purchase conditions, and coordinate meetings with subcontractors;
- Manage rental requests with Bare supplier and note inspections during departures and returns;
- Handle issues related to purchases, returns, and complaints for the region;
- Support provincial teams in planning mechanical maintenance;
- Perform periodic inspections of slings and lifting accessories;
- Ensure compliance with budgets and current purchasing policies, as well as invoice tracking;
- Respond to requests for light vehicle rentals;
- Perform any other task as needed.

Job requirements
- Hold a DEP in stock management, supply, logistics, or a related field;
- Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in supply or material resource management;
- Have knowledge of mechanical parts, construction equipment, and heavy machinery (asset);
- Be proficient in computer tools, including inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Be familiar with the AS400 system (asset);
- Hold a valid driver's license (Class 5);
- Have good command of French and English, both spoken and written (asset).
Job conditions
- 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday;
- Materials Technician salary scale under the collective agreement.
