Under the authority of the Deputy Director, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting DIRO in activities related to budgetary operations and human resources management.

Your daily challenges

  • Ensure control, approval, and follow-up of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with the University's and funding agency's policies.
  • Assist researchers and teaching staff in the financial management of their research funds, including reimbursements of professional allocations, scholarship applications (including the large volume of Mitacs scholarships), and the production of financial reports.
  • Manage administrative and financial operations, including the allocation of purchase cards and other related activities.
  • Coordinate human resources processes for research staff, including hiring, terminations, research assistant appointments, and postdoctoral fellow applications.
  • Provide a functional advisory and supervisory role to administrative technicians, newly hired research coordinators, and teaching staff for administrative and financial matters.
  • Optimize and implement processes surrounding financial transactions (entry, reconciliation, rebilling), in collaboration with the Mila team (and any other partner), including the management of ministerial or institutional envelopes.

What you need to succeed in this role

  • Bachelor's degree in administration, accounting, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in financial management.
  • Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Intermediate mastery of Excel.
  • Practical knowledge of the University's administrative applications (Synchro finances and HR/payroll, UdeM portal).
  • Knowledge of institutional policies in effect.
