Within the Operations Department, provide welcome to donors at the stations and excellent customer service at the bookstore.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Welcome donors diligently, in a friendly and courteous manner, assist in removing donations from vehicles, maintain an accurate daily donation log;
  • Maintain an optimal level of customer service through listening and advising to ensure awareness of new items in the store;
  • Sort donations by categories;
  • Meet donors within ten seconds;
  • Receive and open bags of clothing and boxes of household items;
  • Perform the initial sorting of books, accessories, shoes, and clothing;
  • Place accessories in appropriate boxes, shoes, and clothing;
  • Return empty boxes to the correct locations;
  • Participate in maintaining the workplace;
  • Complete any other tasks assigned by your Supervisor.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Secondary III or equivalent
  • Speed, attention to detail, and concentration
  • Good visual-motor coordination
  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms)
  • Ability to vigorously support the mission of insertion and the philosophy of Renaissance
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Open-mindedness, tolerance, acceptance, and respect for others
  • Independent and trustworthy person
  • Adaptability and honesty
