Job Details

Under the supervision of the Director of Software Development, the main tasks and responsibilities of the software designer are related to the development, design, and improvement of software products using our optical fiber sensors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and execute tasks related to development, architecture, design, verification, validation, and maintenance of software within the framework of new product development as well as the optimization of existing products;
  • Evaluate and resolve software operation issues, recommend solutions, implement solutions, and document corrections according to the processes in place within the project;
  • Participate in the development of unit tests, functional tests, integration tests, and complete system validation;
  • Produce and update documentation according to the processes in place within the project;
  • Participate in technical reviews, including design reviews and document reviews;
  • Develop embedded applications in C, C++ combining multitasking and real-time;
  • Provide support to other departments (production, sales, customers) when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, or electrical engineering;
  • Experience with languages C, C++, C#, HTML, Java;
  • Knowledge of the LINUX environment, RT-Linux embedded;
  • Resourcefulness, autonomy, and attention to detail;
  • Collaborative spirit;
  • STMicroelectronics (ST) product environment (STM32 processors, STM Cube...), an asset;
  • Texas Instruments (TI) product environment (Code Composer studio, ...), an asset;
  • Experience with test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, JTAG, etc.), an asset.
