About RRI
Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) is a global coalition of more than 200 organizations dedicated to advancing the forest, land, and resource rights of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, Afro-descendant Peoples, and particularly women within these groups. RRI is coordinated by a Secretariat based in Washington, DC.
RRI and Campaign for Nature (CfN) launched the Community Land and Conservation Finance Initiative (CLARIFI) in January 2022. CLARIFI is an international funding mechanism to scale up support for secure community land rights. It aims to address the gap in investment in Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro-descendant (IP, LC, and AD) organizations and their allies.
Associate, CLARIFI – Latin America
The Associate provides programmatic and administrative support for the Community Land and Conservation Finance Initiative (CLARIFI). Working closely with the CLARIFI Director, regional facilitators, and cross-functional teams, the Associate coordinates grant administration, regional collaboration, and program operations that support community land rights across Latin America. You'll join a collaborative international team that values initiative, continuous learning, and respectful partnership across cultures.

This is a full-time position based in Montreal, Quebec, with the option to telework two days per week (Mondays and Fridays). Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and located in the Montreal area prior to the start date.
Key Responsibilities:
CLARIFI Program Coordination (75%)
- Coordinate project proposal, budget, and grant review processes with regional facilitators and grantees.
- Manage grant administration activities, including contracts, amendments, work plans, reporting, and payment coordination.
- Collaborate with compliance, finance, and monitoring teams to ensure projects meet organizational and donor requirements.
- Monitor project progress, deliverables, financial reporting, and key deadlines.
- Draft and coordinate correspondence, reports, presentations, and program documentation in English and either Spanish or Portuguese, with support for other relevant languages as needed.
- Support donor reporting, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Coordinate meetings, travel, logistics, and regional learning events.
- Serve as a liaison among regional facilitators, grantees, consultants, and internal teams to support effective communication and project coordination.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with regional teams, partners, and grantees.
- Contribute to CLARIFI communications by supporting success stories, program updates, and communications materials.
- Provide general administrative support and perform other related duties as assigned.
Organization Planning & Institution-Wide Support (25%)
- Support organization-wide planning, governance, and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate logistics for governance meetings, planning sessions, regional learning exchanges, and global advocacy events.
- Assist with donor reporting, program planning, monitoring, and organizational research.
- Prepare presentations, briefing materials, reports, and internal documentation.
- Edit and translate internal documents and support multilingual communications in English and Spanish or Portuguese.
- Contribute to coalition planning, networking, and cross-functional initiatives that advance RRI's strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in International Development, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field (or equivalent education and work experience).
- 1–2 years of experience in grants management, nonprofit operations, program administration, or international development.
- Fluency in English and professional working proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese.
- Professional working proficiency in French.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, collaborative environment.
- Ability to travel internationally throughout Latin America.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting international grants or donor-funded programs.
- Familiarity with grant management or project management systems (e.g. SmartSimple).
- Experience supporting countries or programs in Latin America.
- Experience with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, or local community organizations.
- Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes and reporting.

Salary Range: CAD $56,000–$70,000.
*Actual starting salary is typically between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience and qualifications, allowing room for future growth within the salary band.*
