Your team:
The Vice-Presidency of Legal Affairs supports all business lines in the implementation of transactions. Part of this team acts as a business partner and supports the Regional Financing teams in the context of financing transactions (by debt or loan guarantee).
Your role:
As a Legal Advisor, for the Regional Financing teams, you will play a key role in supporting the teams in the implementation of Investissement Québec (IQ) financial interventions. Through your legal advice, you will actively participate in the organization's mission: supporting Quebec companies in their growth and stimulating the economy in all regions of the province.
Your daily responsibilities: *Legal expertise and advice:* Support the teams in the preparation, negotiation, and implementation of financial interventions (loans, guarantees, modifications). Provide strategic legal support to senior and professional staff.
*Documentation and validation:* Draft, review, and update contracts, templates, and legal documents used. Ensure the protection of the organization's rights, particularly in matters of bankruptcy and insolvency.
*Collaboration and supervision:* Review the work of external lawyers or collaborate with them upstream of cases. Ensure supervision of their work according to internal procedures.
*Compliance and governance:* Ensure the compliance of interventions with internal policies, governance rules, and government programs managed by Investissement Québec.
*Continuous improvement:* Participate in the optimization of the transactional processes of the served business units. Contribute to various cross-cutting projects and strategic mandates.
*Training and knowledge sharing:* May participate in the preparation of training sessions for internal teams.
What we are looking for
- University degree in law and member of the Quebec Bar or the Quebec Notaries Chamber.
- Five (5) years or more of experience in corporate, commercial, or financing law.
- Knowledge of legislation applicable to loans, guarantees, bankruptcy, and insolvency.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, solve problems by mitigating risks, negotiate, and communicate effectively.
- Rigor, diplomacy, resourcefulness, and teamwork are in your DNA.
