Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager assists the restaurant manager to achieve A&W's goals regarding guest service, operational standards, and financial results by forming an exceptional team of employees and leveraging their skills to exceed guest expectations. They are responsible for the restaurant during their shift.

Skills

• Maintain relationships with other management team members, guests, and suppliers
• Manage a dynamic, guest-focused restaurant where a great work environment is very important
• The willingness to enhance their skills in selecting, training, and developing employees is also crucial
• The Assistant Manager must also have a valid driver's license

Work Conditions

• Work in a diverse environment where people with different personalities and attitudes interact
• Work together as partners, collaborating with colleagues
• Work with hot products and equipment
• Work with cleaning products and chemicals
• Work in a noisy environment
• Work with sharp objects (knives, slicers, etc.)
• Use a portable ladder or step stool, if necessary

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods (up to eight hours)
• Occasionally lift heavy boxes during inventory (maximum of 50 lb)
• Perform repetitive tasks (prepare and gather order items and periodically clean the restaurant, for example)
• Stay alert to ensure your own safety as well as that of your colleagues and guests
• Have good personal hygiene habits and follow uniform standards
• Be able to handle stressful situations
