Laser Programmer / Laser Nester

Coupe Laser Ultra is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laser Programmer / Laser Nester to join our production team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing laser cutting programs, creating efficient nests, reviewing drawings, and supporting production to ensure parts are cut accurately, efficiently, and according to customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and optimize laser cutting programs
• Create efficient nests to maximize material usage
• Review drawings and files such as DXF, DWG, STEP, and PDF
• Validate material type, thickness, quantities, and cutting requirements
• Prepare jobs for flat laser and/or tube laser production
• Reduce material waste through efficient nesting
• Communicate with production, estimating, and engineering when information is missing or unclear
• Identify potential issues before releasing jobs to production
• Keep job files and documentation organized
• Support production planning based on priorities and delivery dates

Requirements

• Experience in laser programming, nesting, or CNC programming
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Knowledge of metal fabrication or sheet metal, an asset
• Experience with laser cutting software, an asset
• Good computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure
• Good communication skills
• Bilingual French/English is an asset

Assets

• Experience with laser programming on trumpf
• Experience with DXF, DWG, STEP, and PDF files
• Knowledge of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
