YOUR ROLE

The Director will oversee the operations of the avian reproduction farms. Your main mandate will be to ensure the safe conduct of activities related to the production of incubation eggs to supply the hatcheries in Victoriaville and Ange-Gardien. Supported by your team, you will be responsible for managing a fleet of assets and maintaining relationships with affiliated independent egg producers. Your team plays a key role in the organization's poultry value chain, as avian reproduction operations have a significant impact on the overall quality of poultry production and the resulting revenues.

Strategic Production Management

• Ensure the production of incubation eggs within corporate and independent farms, in accordance with the organization's protocols, standards, and budgets;
• Maintain and update the avian assets of your department;
• Actively participate in the poultry federations related to your work;
• Generate measurable production results for each period and implement corrective measures as needed;
• Support your team managers in managing the efficiency and productivity of your department, including planning your workforce and raw material needs;
• Work closely with members of Sollio's poultry subsidiary and its partner networks;
• You are skilled and strategic in navigating a complex organization, understanding how to navigate a matrix and political organization;
• Be responsible for maintaining up-to-date contractual agreements with our poultry farmer partners, renewing them, and making any required modifications.

Standardization and Continuous Improvement

• Review production standards and deploy common practices across all reproduction sites;
• Modernize methods and digitize work to facilitate the management and efficiency of operations and employees;
• Deploy operational improvements under your supervision to optimize activities and generate benefits for the organization;
• Submit and drive asset improvement projects for future years.

Team Management

• Manage a global team of over 80 people;
• Ensure the application of good HR practices in managing syndicated and non-syndicated teams;
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with CNESST rules, tracking SST files, organizing and participating in committees.

Network Relations & Collaboration

• Maintain communication with industry federations to ensure compliance with established standards and the well-being of birds;
• Collaborate with other value chain stakeholders to find global solutions (hatchery, commercial, COOP, producer).

YOUR ASSETS

• You hold a university degree in agronomy, operations management, or any other relevant program and experience;
• You have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a manager;
• You have relevant experience in agricultural operations management (a significant asset);
• You have experience in process optimization and continuous improvement;
• You are recognized as a positive leader and mobilizer;
• You are skilled in interpersonal relations and communicate clearly your expectations to be understood and adapt to employees under your responsibility;
• You adapt easily to changing situations;
• You demonstrate great rigor and collaboration to ensure cohesion between production, management, and quality;
• You have a strong sense of organization and are responsible and autonomous;
• You have a sense of urgency, managing production priorities as well as human ones;
• You are goal-oriented and achieve this by relying on concrete data;
• You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365;
• You must have an intermediate or advanced level of English, as one farm is located in Vermont, USA;
• You have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for frequent travel in Quebec to your department's sites and Sollio Agriculture's poultry sector.
