ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada is currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer who reports to the Head of the Mechanical Maintenance Section. He or she is responsible for numerous projects necessary to maintain and improve the maintenance and production equipment installations. He or she actively participates in various interventions related to new technologies (vendor visits, benchmarking, etc.). He or she performs various activities related to the preparation and implementation of projects.
Working Hours
This position is based in Port-Cartier with a 5-2 work schedule, Monday to Friday, eight (8) hours per day, or a 4-3 schedule, Monday to Thursday, ten (10) hours per day.

Main Responsibilities
- Coordinates, develops, and implements various engineering activities necessary for the design or improvement of processes, equipment, or installations;
- Provides technical assistance to all teams in the railway sector;
- Leads and supports engineers under his or her supervision;
- Solves various technical problems autonomously in mechanical engineering;
- Develops and submits investment projects (CAPEX) for approval for the services he or she works in;
- May have to supervise employees within the framework of his or her projects;
- Is responsible for tracking the implementation of approved CAPEX projects from his or her team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and must be registered on the table;
- 5 years of relevant experience;
- Knowledge of appropriate computer tools;
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical standards in Quebec;
- Priority management in a dynamic environment;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Developed political sense;
- Leadership in health and safety;
- Rigor and attention to detail;
- Experience in personnel management is an asset;
- Functional bilingualism is required.
