Machine Operator Assistant

Under the supervision of the production manager, the machine operator assistant assists machinists in their functions, operates various equipment, and performs simple finishing tasks by following established quality procedures. The manufactured parts are intended for the aerospace sector.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Be meticulous, have a concern for detail and quality work;
• Have a sense of responsibility and observation;
• Possess great manual dexterity;
• Be able to work in a team to analyze and solve problems.
• Relevant experience in the manufacturing field (an asset);

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Clean parts using metal cleaning equipment such as sandblasting devices, deburring machines, and tumbling equipment;
• Manually finish several types of metal parts with varying degrees of complexity using various tools such as X-Acto knives, sandpaper, etc.;
• Ensure the traceability of parts throughout the production process by identifying them with a number or color code;
• Operate machines in various machining centers;
• Check the dimensions of machined parts and tools using micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, optical comparators, CMM, and other specialized measuring equipment, then complete and write inspection reports;
• Note all deviations from specifications and tolerances and notify the team leader;
• Clean work areas and equipment used in the performance of functions;
• Perform various tasks and minor jobs related to the department;
• Participate in the training and integration of newly hired employees into their positions;
• Participate in continuous improvement work and always strive to improve work methods and practices in your service.

Conditions

• Salary: Between $17.56 to $26.34 per hour, depending on the experience and skills of the retained candidate;

• Work schedule: Day;
• Work mode: On-site;
