Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicles safely to transport goods on urban or local routes.
  • Perform deliveries and pick-ups for Montreal, Rive-Nord, and surrounding areas in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Drive tractor-trailer vehicles in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Secure the freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and tie-down bars, ensuring compliance with load securement standards.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip, checking tires, brakes, lights, and load securement; report any issues to the maintenance service for prompt repairs.
  • Accurately complete all required documents, including electronic logs, inspection reports, delivery documents, and incident reports.
  • Adhere to hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet operational requirements and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or night shifts as needed.

Basic Requirements (for all driver positions)

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license.
  • Ability to provide a bond and legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Recent and verifiable commercial driving experience (within the last 6 months to 1 year).
  • Solid understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement.
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles in winter conditions.
  • Ability to accurately complete electronic logs (eLogs), vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with a safety-focused professional approach.

  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable experience driving with a Class 1 license.
  • Experience securing loads using chains and straps, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Experience transporting steel, lumber, or similar goods.
  • Urban Drivers
  • Good knowledge of Montreal and its surroundings.
  • Specialized Equipment: An asset/required
  • Previous experience using specialized equipment, including lift gates, electric and manual pallet jacks, boom trucks, or Moffett trucks.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including manual loading and unloading of goods as needed.
