Mechanical and Industrial Piping Engineer

Your Role

As a Mechanical and Industrial Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Determining the specific needs of projects, establishing the scope of work, and identifying steps and timelines for completion;
• Performing design and calculations related to project requirements;
• Conducting piping design studies (Plans, isometrics, flexibility calculations, sizing);
• Having knowledge of software such as Pipeflow, Plan 3D, Caesar;
• Defining materials, supports, accessories, and equipment based on process, pressure, and temperature constraints;
• Being able to perform stress analyses on piping;
• Ensuring compliance with applicable standards and codes (ASME, EN, API, etc.);
• Good knowledge of piping design codes (ASME B31.3, etc.);
• Knowledge of pressure vessels is considered an asset;
• Providing technical support to other project managers when required;
• May also be called upon to act as a project manager;
• Writing quotes and technical reports;
• Evaluating the cost of work;
• Coordinating between different stakeholders;
• Providing technical assistance during construction work;
• Supporting team and member development;
• Adhering to rules and procedures that ensure employee and environmental safety as well as work accident prevention. Additionally, with a continuous improvement perspective, being proactive in improving health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures to prevent potential dangers related to your work.

About You

• Hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering;
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the mechanical field, particularly in industrial piping design;
• Be a member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
• Have good knowledge of the industrial environment;
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written), bilingualism is an asset.
