Mechanic Assistant

At duBreton, we are looking for a Mechanic Assistant to join the team at our Saint-Bernard-de-Beauce mill.

Under the supervision of the mill supervisor, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the plant, both in terms of equipment maintenance and repair as well as operational activities. Your contribution will ensure the smooth functioning of the facilities, in compliance with health and safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.

As a Mechanic Assistant at the Saint-Bernard-de-Beauce mill, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting the mechanic with mechanical breakdowns in the plant
• Participating in the replacement and maintenance of various production components (distribution systems, grain mills, mixers, cube machines, coolers, extruders, etc.)
• Performing various welding tasks as needed
• Contributing to the preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure their reliability and safety
• Responding to operational requests regarding adjustments, repairs, or improvements needed
• Participating in industrial cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities
• Assisting with truck loading and related logistics operations
• Receiving grain and bags according to established procedures
• Supporting the daily operations of the mill according to operational priorities

This position is for you if...

• You hold a DEP in a relevant field (mechanics, industrial maintenance, or another related field)
• You have good mechanical skills and an interest in manual work
• You demonstrate a high sense of responsibility and good observational skills
• You are recognized for your ability to work in a team and collaborate with different stakeholders
• You strictly adhere to safety procedures and protocols
• You are quick to execute tasks, have good physical stamina, and enjoy active work
• You demonstrate diligence, autonomy, and good judgment in performing your tasks
• You are comfortable working at heights when required

Specific requirements for the position

• Always wear the required personal protective equipment (safety helmet, goggles, boots, and other equipment as needed)
• Be able to work in an environment with noise and dust, without respiratory issues or allergies incompatible with the job
• Be available on call evenings and weekends, as needed, in case of mechanical breakdowns or situations requiring intervention
