ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN – Temporary with possibility of permanent position
Under the direction of the Finance Director of the Federation, and working closely with the general directors and administrative staff of the client cooperatives, the Accounting Technician is responsible for the general accounting of several business units, namely the funeral home client cooperatives of Finance Expert and our out-of-province funeral home businesses.
Your daily tasks at the Federation
- Processing payroll;
- Processing vendor accounts and paying invoices;
- Invoicing clients according to contracts and agreements;
- Managing electronic expense reports and pre-authorized payments (PPA);
- Recording receipts and collecting client accounts if required;
- Monthly bank reconciliations;
- Tracking deposits and withdrawals from the trust fund and applying applicable taxes;
- Writing adjustments, account analyses, and other required financial analyses;
- Government remittances;
- Collaboration in the production of the monthly management file (performance indicators, financial statements, and comparative analyses);
- Participation in the year-end financial report with external auditors;
- Maintaining an adequate system for archiving and consulting documents;
- All other responsibilities as defined by your immediate supervisor.
Your key skills
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;
- Good management of priorities and sense of organization;
- Rigor and attention to detail in task execution;
- Ability to take charge of files and analyze accounting data;
- Adequate and timely reporting;
- Team spirit, resourcefulness, and autonomy;
- Ability to communicate and interact with various partners;
- Respect and courtesy in all communications.
Your profile
- DEC in administrative techniques or equivalent;
- 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting (complete accounting cycle);
- Good knowledge of Office Suite (Excel) and accounting software Acomba;
- Functional communication in French and English;
- Experience in funeral home accounting is an asset;
- Experience in a cooperative environment is an asset.
