We are looking for an Internal Communications Specialist for our Montreal office.
In this role, the person will provide operational support in communication to the leadership and key stakeholders. They will actively contribute to improving the employee experience and strengthening the firm's culture. They will also ensure that internal communications are aligned with the firm's values, brand, and vision, while driving the achievement of business objectives.
They will support the implementation of the internal communication strategy, including coordinating activities, producing content, and tracking results. They will ensure that internal audiences are well-informed, in line with the firm's values and vision.
Key Responsibilities: Strategies and Operations
- Support the implementation of the internal communication strategy, including coordinating activities and managing channels, while measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of initiatives.
- Create and distribute relevant content to strengthen our reputation, clarify our messages, support our corporate culture, and contribute to our strategic business objectives.
- Collaborate with members of the leadership, groups, and services to produce engaging content aligned with the strategy, firm culture, and brand standards.
- Maintain an editorial calendar to ensure consistent and well-coordinated distribution of internal communications.
- Develop and maintain internal communication templates to optimize content production and ensure brand image compliance.
- Compile performance indicators for communication campaigns and materials and prepare analysis reports for the senior communications manager.
- Leadership Communications
- Participate in the writing of content for the executive committee and business services, including speech notes, announcements, scripts, presentations, client stories, and other materials aimed at various audiences and contributing to the achievement of business objectives.
- Contribute to the production of content and the promotion of events, reports, announcements related to admissions to the firm, and other projects.
- Participate in the writing of crisis communications in collaboration with the senior communications manager, providing advice and support in writing, distribution, measurement, and report production.
- Support the leadership of various services by providing advice and support in writing, distribution, measurement, and report production.
- Internal Communications
- Establish trust-building relationships with members of the Markets and Clients team, as well as stakeholders from practice groups and business services, to better understand their realities and support their initiatives through effective communications.
- Contribute to the development of a strategic plan or roadmap that will include: Diagnosis of current internal communications compared to market best practices; Segmentation of internal audiences according to their communication preferences; Audit and analysis of policies, procedures, technologies, etc.; Long-term action plan; Definition of key performance indicators.
What You Bring to Miller Thomson
- University or post-secondary degree in communication, public relations, or journalism.
- Minimum of five years of direct experience in internal communication.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and forge relationships with firm members.
- Bilingualism required (French and English).
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
- Excellent customer service.
- Attention to detail and meticulousness.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Quick and effective problem-solving.
- Experience working in a professional services firm, an asset.
