MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE
Reporting to the Director of Perspectives and Portfolio Management, the Analyst provides support to the Corporate Partnerships team by offering data analysis and portfolio management services. This position contributes to the organization's fundraising efforts by designing and updating data reports, optimizing fundraising portfolios, and ensuring the integrity and strategic use of data related to potential donors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Data Analysis
- Use Salesforce and data analysis and visualization tools to generate insights that enable strategic fundraising decisions based on data.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to facilitate the management of potential donor pools, portfolios, forecasts, and fundraising activities.
- Serve as the primary representative of the Corporate Partnerships team for data, analysis, and solution (DAS) project discussions.
- Play the role of an expert in Salesforce within the Corporate Giving team, including managing updates, creating and modifying reports, guiding process changes, and setting up campaigns.
- Manage the securities donation process, which must be processed within strict deadlines, in accordance with the Canadian Cancer Society's donation acceptance policy, ensuring accuracy and compliance with rules.
- Prospect Research and Reporting
- Implement prospect research strategies and initiatives to ensure data integrity; design and produce regular and ad-hoc audit reports to ensure the accuracy of evaluations, steps, assignments, proposals, and prospect groups.
- The Analyst stays up-to-date with market trends and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of services.
- Create efficiencies by simplifying tools, processes, and reports based on feedback from colleagues and observation of data entry results. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to facilitate information sharing and collaborate with the DAS team to implement updates.
- Maintain and update the document related to operational procedures and policies to strengthen data and analysis consistency; this document can also serve as a reference guide for fundraising and facilitate obtaining the required approvals.
- Support for Fundraising Portfolio Management
- Provide recommendations to fundraising staff on how to interpret, understand, and use data visualization and predictive model scoring for the discovery of prospects and portfolio management.
- Organize quarterly review meetings with fundraisers to review portfolios and ensure that fundraising activities are proceeding as planned and progressing through the solicitation cycle. Organize and lead regular meetings with fundraisers to review portfolios and ensure data clarity before quarterly reviews.
- Monitor portfolio composition and performance; formulate recommendations regarding portfolio size, development stage distribution, evolution management, fundraising plans, as well as stagnation or elimination of prospects.
- Design and facilitate monthly training sessions on new reports and tools for fundraisers to ensure that key performance indicators and financial goals are met. Use strong data analysis and presentation skills to clearly present information to staff at different levels of the service.
- Lead database cleanup initiatives to strengthen hierarchical relationships and eliminate duplicates across different business units.
- Initiate and conduct prospect generation and solicitation actions to renew the corporate donor base and identify new or existing prospects within the database.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in extracting, interpreting, and synthesizing complex data sets using Salesforce and data analysis and visualization tools to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Practical experience in creating and modifying reports, managing data updates, guiding process changes, and serving as an expert to internal users.
- Experience collaborating with technical teams (e.g., data and analysis) and first-line fundraising managers to transform organizational needs into actionable information, tools, and process improvements.
- Experience implementing data integrity initiatives, conducting portfolio analyses, and supporting potential donor management strategies in a fundraising or customer relationship management (CRM) environment.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, diagnose issues within portfolios, and propose clear and actionable solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly present data to users with or without technical knowledge, and to help fundraising managers implement this information.
- Commitment to accuracy, consistency, and good data management in data entry, reporting, and documentation.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with fundraising managers, leadership, and technical teams, fostering trust and collective ownership of data-driven practices.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is strongly desired, with French being an asset due to the organization's national activities and the need for effective communication between different regions.
