We are looking for an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our front desk team. This position is primarily scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is ideal for someone who thrives on delivering exceptional guest experiences, communicates with confidence and professionalism, and takes pride in ensuring the hotel's daily operations run seamlessly.
As the face of the hotel during the day, you'll welcome guests, manage check-ins and check-outs, coordinate closely with housekeeping and maintenance, oversee reservations, and ensure every guest interaction reflects The Mercer Hotel's commitment to outstanding hospitality.
This role is best suited for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, proactive, and passionate about providing exceptional customer service.
We are hiring for permanent Full-Time and Part-Time positions.
What You'll Do
- Welcome guests with professionalism, warmth, and exceptional hospitality
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently
- Handle reservations, booking modifications, and guest inquiries
- Coordinate daily with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are guest-ready
- Monitor room availability and reservation accuracy
- Communicate with guests via phone, email, and third party websites
- Process payments and maintain accurate guest records
- Create detailed internal notes and update guest profiles
- Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming front desk environment
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel while delivering an exceptional guest experience

Required
- Minimum 2 years of hotel front desk experience, OR a Diploma in Hospitality Management (or related field) with relevant customer service experience
- Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
- Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn hotel management systems
- Comfortable using smartphones and communication platforms such as WhatsApp
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must currently reside in the Greater Montreal Area
Assets
- Experience with Guesty or another Property Management System (PMS)
- Experience with Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, or other OTA platforms
- Additional languages are considered an asset
