Environmental Awareness Technician - Longueuil Patrol

Our Waste Management Department (GMR) is looking for environmental technicians to carry out a communication campaign targeting 9,000 households in the city of Longueuil. Under the supervision of the project agent, you will conduct awareness and information interventions on food waste collection among residents.

JOB DUTIES

• Conduct door-to-door visits to educate citizens about the procedures for food waste collection, inventory their problems and/or concerns, and provide all necessary information, tips, and tricks to help them feel capable of starting or resuming their participation in food waste collection;
• Compile quantitative and qualitative data on a mobile application;
• Perform any other related tasks.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• College diploma (AEC or DEC) in progress or completed in an environmental studies or communication (public relations) program. Any combination of education and experience will be considered;
• At least one (1) year of relevant experience in customer service, environment, or awareness;
• Knowledge of the Office suite and new technologies;
• Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules;
• Good physical condition: walking over short distances;
• Personality: ease of communication, diplomacy, enthusiasm and dynamism, patience and courtesy, autonomy and reactivity, strong analytical, listening, and persuasion skills;
• Ability to communicate in English (an asset for customer service);
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.

• Hourly rate: Starting at $22.45/hour, depending on experience.
