Thomassie Mangiok Director of Center - Nuvviti School FUNCTION & TASKS:

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director General, the Deputy Director participates in the material management and administrative activities of the schools. The main tasks of this position include:

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the school board's strategic action plan;
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate the Director of Center for the Youth Sector;
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, contractual obligations and organizational procedures;
  • Provide expertise to school administrators to promote optimal school management;
  • Support or participate in the recruitment process for school staff;
  • Ensure that deliverables meet the standards set by the school board;
  • Participate in meetings and committees with partners and stakeholders;
  • Participate in the planning and preparation of the annual budget for the service;
  • Provide support to schools for their school success plan;
  • Assume any other responsibility compatible with the function or assigned by the immediate superior.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or a relevant field;
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience, including at least five (5) years in a management position;

*The school board may, at its discretion, not consider the above qualifications if it deems the candidate from the Convention de la Baie James et du Nord québécois (CBJNQ) adequate and the person accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training program determined by the school board.*

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in two (2) of the three (3) languages used by the school board (Inuktitut, English and French);
  • Willing to travel frequently to different communities in Nunavik;
  • Excellent management and organizational skills to establish an effective work environment;
  • Initiative;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word and Excel;
  • Speaking Inuktitut is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Nunavik and Inuit culture is an asset.
  • CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / SOCIAL BENEFITS:

Class 10*, in accordance with the working conditions of KI executives: between 116,551 $ and 155,396 $ per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
