Mandate Context

As part of the Operational Data Platform (ODP) roadmap, the team is looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to modernize and optimize its deployment processes.

The ODP team currently consists of Data Engineers responsible for the development and maintenance of data integration solutions primarily based on Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

The objective of this mandate is to improve and automate the deployment cycle to make deployments faster, more reliable, and more reproducible across development, test, and production environments.

The consultant will work closely with the development team to implement DevOps best practices and an effective CI/CD approach.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Deployment Process Optimization

Evaluate current release and deployment management processes.

Identify bottlenecks, manual tasks, and automation opportunities.

Design and implement an optimized release strategy according to DevOps best practices.

Standardize deployment processes across different environments.

Improve the reliability, traceability, and reproducibility of deployments.

CI/CD and Automation

Design, develop, and optimize Build and Release pipelines in Azure DevOps.

Automate application, database, and SSIS package deployments.

Implement validation mechanisms and deployment approval workflows.

Reduce manual interventions through automation.

Ensure continuous improvement of software delivery processes.

Collaboration and Knowledge Transfer

Collaborate with the ODP team to integrate DevOps practices into the development cycle.

Provide technical support and mentorship on Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.

Participate in technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Produce technical documentation and ensure knowledge transfer to the team.

Excellent mastery of Git and source code management best practices.

Experience in Agile development environments.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary development teams.

CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $60,000-$115,000. This position is vacant.
