Your team:

Within the First Vice Presidency, Private Placements (PVP-PP), the Vice Presidency, Venture Capital supports the growth and acceleration of companies in pre-seed, seed, startup, or post-startup stages (information technology, artificial intelligence, fintech, innovative manufacturing, innovative technologies) up to a certain level of maturity. This VP has made direct venture capital investments totaling over $700 million to date and holds stakes in over 100 Quebec companies.

Within this, the First Division, Venture Capital, Innovation, and Impact Investment invests in technology and innovative companies with high growth potential, primarily at the startup (Series A) and growth (Series B and beyond) stages. It supports entrepreneurs in their expansion projects by combining capital, strategic expertise, and governance to foster the development of value-creating companies for Quebec.

Your role:

The Investment Analyst, Venture Capital, supports the investment team in analyzing, evaluating, and executing investments in innovative Quebec-based technology companies in startup and growth stages. They also contribute to portfolio monitoring and management to support profitability goals, governance, investment quality, and client service.

Your responsibilities: *Analysis and execution of high-potential investments*

• Participate in due diligence reviews of companies and evaluate investment opportunities.
• Analyze financial and business information to support investment recommendations.
• Contribute to the preparation of investment, divestment, and amendment files for decision-making bodies.
• *Management and monitoring of an innovative company portfolio*
• Ensure the monitoring of direct holdings in portfolio companies.
• Participate in reporting and produce management reports for governance committees.
• Contribute to portfolio performance optimization and rigorous risk management.
• *Strategic watch and market intelligence*
• Support the team in maintaining high-quality business relationships with fund managers, partners, and key ecosystem stakeholders.
• Collaborate on strategic watch on investment funds, market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Your profile

• University degree in business administration or related field to investment.
• Graduate degree and/or professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA, EÉE) (asset).
• Two (2) or more years of relevant experience as a financial analyst and/or private investor. Proficiency in company analysis tools and techniques.
• Strong interest in the technology sector and a willingness to invest in understanding the technical elements of the sector.
• Knowledge of venture capital investment operations.
• MS Office, Excel, Copilot, and dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Willingness to perform transactional investment activities outside regular working hours.
• Possess a valid driver's license to visit clients across Quebec.
• Proficiency in communications, both in French and English, both orally and in writing.
