- The Position: Financial Controller
Under the supervision of the President, the Financial Controller works in collaboration with the various departments to support the company's growth and strategic projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise the accounting and financial activities of the company
- Produce and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
- Prepare budgets and ensure tracking.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, and internal controls.
- Participate in the preparation of external audits and collaborate with auditors.
- Produce financial reports for the management and formulate recommendations.
- Supervise and support the accounting team.
- Participate in the improvement of administrative and financial processes.
- Document project activities and decisions.
- Actively promote a health and safety culture at work.
- Perform any other related tasks to support the team and the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA professional designation (an asset).
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience in supervising a team (an asset).
- Experience in preparing financial statements, budgets, and financial analyses.
- Experience in the construction and project accounting sector.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards.
- Good knowledge of tax laws, withholding taxes, and taxes.
- Experience with Maestro Technology accounting software.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to unexpected changes.
- Ability to collaborate and maintain a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated respect for health-safety rules.
- Excellent mastery of French and English, both written and oral.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite.
