This role can be based in our offices in Quebec, Ontario, or British Columbia.

The Hydropower Operations and Maintenance Manager is responsible for the commercial development and growth of this important activity sector for Andritz's hydroelectric services and rehabilitation activities in Canada. In this key role, the Hydropower Operations and Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Head of Small Services and Operations and Maintenance.

The main responsibilities for this key role are as follows: Sales, Proposals, and Project Execution: In collaboration with the company's shared services:

Prepare bids for small services and operations and maintenance opportunities, including responsibilities for all technical and commercial aspects;

Review and approve all bids and purchase orders in accordance with ANDRITZ standards;

Support or directly lead contract negotiations with clients;

Manage and track project details executed by team members;

Ensure customer satisfaction, delivery deadlines, and project execution excellence;

Develop tools and key performance indicators (dashboard) to monitor the results of your activities;

Prepare and present presentations and use internal marketing tools for client visits;

Participate in periodic internal reviews with management.

Business Development: In collaboration with Hydro's business development team:

Assist the first vice president and head of small services and operations and maintenance in preparing the annual business plan;

Develop an annual client visit plan to promote Andritz's offers and capabilities in small services and operations and maintenance;

Maintain good relationships with key and strategic clients and periodically obtain their evaluation;

Promote and introduce the many solutions/tools developed by Andritz Hydro's working group;

Promote and prioritize the negotiation and implementation of main (or long-term) operations and maintenance service agreements with strategic clients.

5 to 10 years of experience in project management, operations, and maintenance, commercial development related to designed/manufactured products and after-sales services;

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience;

Member of engineering professional authorities, engineer's title, OIQ (an asset);

Knowledge of the Canadian or U.S. hydroelectric market (an asset);

Experience in the management of operations and maintenance of hydroelectric plants (an asset);

Experience in sales, proposals, and client interaction;

  • Knowledge of commercial contracts and negotiation skills;
  • Project management, leadership skills, and ability to manage a team and track results;
  • Proven experience and achievements in managing large projects;
  • Results-oriented and goal-driven;

Experience in a multidisciplinary environment as a systems engineer, sales director, commercial developer on more than one project at a time;

Proven experience in client relations or professional experience as a client (preferably in the hydroelectric sector or independent power producers);

Advanced written and oral communication skills.

Fluency in French and English;

Availability to travel, as needed (primarily in Canada);

The following skills are an asset:

Knowledge of products, technical aspects, and market related to hydroelectric activities;

Knowledge of Andritz Hydro's compact machine designs and products.
