Reporting to the Engineering Director, the incumbent is responsible for the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and the development of plants based on the company’s needs, in collaboration with the technical team and the operations managers of various terminals.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage CAPEX projects from start to finish (FEL to execution and closure);
- Define scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables;
- Prepare and support approval requests (decision-making files);
- Draft requests for proposals, analyze submissions, and recommend suppliers/contractors;
- Coordinate engineering activities and validate technical solutions;
- Coordinate internal stakeholders (operations, maintenance, HSE) and external parties;
- Provide on-site support, including construction and commissioning;
- Conduct failure analyses in collaboration with local teams to identify root causes and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
Desired Profile
- Hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering (processes);
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 5 years in an industrial environment;
- Experience in refining, petroleum products, petrochemicals, or tank farms is a significant asset;
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of chemical processes and mechanical equipment;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project;
- Adopt a work approach focused on operations, performance, and quality;
- Possess excellent planning, organizational, and resource management skills;
- Be bilingual (French and English, spoken and written).
Working Conditions
- Requires working outdoors under various weather conditions;
- Potential exposure to hazardous environments;
- Frequent travel for work (Canada and the United States);
- Availability for on-call support outside regular working hours.
