The Payroll Agent is responsible for:

  • Managing payroll tasks for drivers and owner-operators (brokers);
  • Processing payments and maintaining payroll files;
  • Answering questions from drivers and owner-operators (brokers);

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and enter the data needed to establish payroll statements (hours worked, bonuses, allowances, absences, etc.).
  • Manage payroll specifics for drivers:

+ Calculate overtime, driving time, and waiting time.

+ Apply bonuses (kilometric, meal, overnight, etc.).

+ Comply with transportation regulations (working time, rest).

  • Calculate salaries, social contributions, and deductions in accordance with collective agreements and regulations.
  • Edit and control payroll statements before distribution.
  • Manage social declarations (CNESST, RRQ, employment insurance, etc.).
  • Answer questions from employees regarding their remuneration.
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes in labor and payroll law.
  • Participate in monthly closing and internal audits related to payroll.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of processed information.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting (preferred);
  • Diploma or training in accounting and/or human resources;
  • Proficiency in payroll software and office tools (e.g., Excel, M365, ERP);
  • Knowledge of Employer D, Folks, and Evolia (or similar systems);
  • In-depth knowledge of social law and collective agreements, particularly in the transportation sector (asset);
  • Meticulousness, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly;
  • Be organized and have a quick adaptability to changes;
  • Bilingual (EN/FR);
  • Expertise in federal jurisdiction regulations for companies.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in accounting, management, or human resources (DEC or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar position, ideally with driver payroll or in the transportation sector.

Employment Conditions

  • Salary: To be discussed based on relevant experience;
  • Permanent position; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Monday to Friday (flexible schedule to be discussed);
