Accounting Analyst, Reconciliations

Department: Accounting

Location: Laval (4204, Industrial Blvd, Laval)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours) THE ROLE

As part of the corporate headquarters team at Alimentation Couche-Tard, within the operational accounting team, the accounting analyst for reconciliations will provide accounting support to the stores under their responsibility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Here are some ways you can make a difference:
• Reconcile, each financial period, the ledger accounts relating to the payment methods accepted in the store;
• Cash deposits
• Debit / credit cards
• Debit / credit cards of the oil companies
• Promotions and discount coupons of the oil companies
• Prepaid and gift cards
• Account for the entries for payment discrepancies (short & surplus);
• Responsible for explaining and justifying payment discrepancies.
• Responsible for taking steps to recover unpaid amounts.
• Account for the entries of bank deposits, banking fees, card fees, equipment fees, and retro-billing charges.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the processes used in the context of the position.
• Provide support to the operational teams of the stores as well as to the accounting team.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience;

Knowledge and Skills

• Good knowledge of Excel;
• Ability to manage multiple files;
• Be meticulous, autonomous, initiative-taking, and have a good analytical spirit;
• Know how to manage priorities while respecting deadlines;
• Interpersonal skills;
• Customer service skills;
• Knowledge of the PDI software will be considered an asset;
• Knowledge of the ReconNet application will be considered an asset

Language Skills

• Bilingualism required (advanced French and English both orally and in writing), as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks below. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
