Description Are you in your final year of the Medical Sonography Technician program? Did you know you could be eligible for a $12,000 scholarship?

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), in collaboration with Santé Québec, is renewing this scholarship program to support training and succession in the fields of medical imaging and medical biology laboratories within the health and social services network (RSSS). This program is intended for individuals enrolled full-time in their final year of a college program leading to a Medical Imaging Technologist title.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, Santé Québec Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal Universitaire will be awarded several $12,000 scholarships.

Qualifications Eligibility

  • To be eligible, the candidate must:
  • Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status and reside in Quebec;
  • Be enrolled and accepted in a program of study covered by this scholarship program, offered by a recognized Quebec educational institution, and pursuing their program of study full-time;
  • Be selected by one of Santé Québec's health facilities (ÉSQ) following the application selection process;
  • Submit a scholarship application before the end of their final year of training.
  • Commitment
  • Selected individuals must:
  • Obtain the degree of study covered by the scholarship program within the normally prescribed timeframe for full-time enrollment;
  • Work as a Medical Imaging Technologist or Medical Technologist, according to the degree obtained, in one of Santé Québec's health facilities (ÉSQ), for a minimum of two (2) years, upon obtaining the DEC;
  • Offer and maintain full-time availability in accordance with local collective agreements and adapted to the needs of the facility;
  • Work on day, evening, or night shifts, as needed by the facility;
  • Provide proof of obtaining the DEC covered by the scholarship program, as well as a copy of the license issued by the Order of Medical Imaging, Radiation Oncology, and Medical Electrophysiology Technologists of Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ) upon obtaining the DEC.
