We are seeking an experienced and strategic sourcing leader to join our team as Director, Strategic Sourcing and Contracts. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and contract management function for Glencore's North American operations, overseeing a portfolio of approximately $2 billion in annual operating and capital expenditures.

As a trusted business partner to operational and corporate stakeholders, you will lead a team of Category Managers and oversee the development and implementation of sourcing strategies aimed at creating value, strengthening governance, mitigating risks, and supporting operational performance. Leveraging market intelligence, supplier partnerships, and leading sourcing platforms such as SAP and Coupa, you will contribute to building a high-performing, continuous improvement-focused sourcing organization that drives long-term value creation.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

Overseeing the Source-to-Contract function across Canada and ensuring the implementation of efficient, uniform, and scalable sourcing processes.

Leading, coaching, and developing a team of Category Managers by fostering collaboration, accountability, and performance.

Developing and implementing category-based sourcing and contract management strategies aligned with operational needs, projects, and business priorities.

Overseeing strategic sourcing activities, negotiating agreements with suppliers, and managing major contracts across multiple sites and business units.

Driving measurable business value through cost savings, supplier performance improvement, risk reduction, and total cost of ownership optimization.

Collaborating closely with operational teams and corporate functions to align sourcing priorities with the company's growth and performance objectives.

Strengthening governance, compliance, and performance management practices in sourcing to support effective decision-making and greater accountability.

Promoting the adoption of best practices, processes, and technologies in sourcing, including SAP and Coupa, while acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with executives, suppliers, and external partners to support sustainable growth and long-term value creation.

Do you have what it takes?

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, commerce, engineering, or a related discipline. A combination of equivalent education and experience will also be considered.

Over 10 years of experience in sourcing, strategic sourcing, contract management, or supply chain operations in a complex industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of the complete Source-to-Contract cycle, including sourcing strategies, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.

Experience in managing category teams within centralized, multisite, or complex organizations.

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that deliver tangible results and measurable business value.

Good understanding of sourcing governance, compliance, policies, controls, and performance management.

Experience with ERP systems and digital sourcing platforms, including SAP and Coupa.

Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and performance tracking.

Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Demonstrated experience in change management, talent development, and building high-performing teams.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executives, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Collaborative and results-oriented leader, recognized for judgment, integrity, and commitment to health, safety, and responsible business practices.

Travel: Up to 25% of the time will be spent on travel, primarily to operational sites located in Eastern Canada.

Languages: Advanced English proficiency, both oral and written, is required. French proficiency is also required.
