What will you contribute to the team?
- Perform aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic simulations to support new aircraft design studies and ensure the continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft
- Use engineering judgment to select appropriate methods, techniques, and tools to solve complex problems
- Prepare and maintain finite element models to perform aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analyses
- Maintain, develop, and document internal methods and software
- Support and interact with other engineering disciplines, such as advanced design, aerodynamics, structures, weights, flight controls, and control laws
- Support ground vibration testing (GVT) and flight flutter testing (FFT) as well as post-processing of results
- Document analyses and conclusions in certification reports and presentations (in English)
How will you thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering with a specialization in aeronautics. A master's degree with a specialization in aeroelasticity, aeroservoelasticity, flight dynamics, or computational aerodynamics is a significant asset.
- You have relevant experience gained through academic projects, research, internships, or in the aerospace industry.
- You have experience in performing aeroelastic and/or aeroservoelastic analyses of aircraft structures.
- You have experience in developing finite element models under MSC Nastran for aeroelastic applications.
- You have experience in performing classical aeroelastic analyses, including static aeroelasticity, divergence, control surface reversal, flutter, and stability evaluations.
- You have experience in generating and validating dynamic structural models, including modal analyses, frequency response calculations, and stability evaluations.
- You have experience with coupling aerodynamic and structural models for aeroelastic applications.
- You have experience with aerodynamic methods used for aeroelastic analyses, such as the Doublet Lattice Method (DLM), Vortex Lattice Method (VLM), Nonlinear Vortex Lattice Method (NL-VLM), or equivalent approaches.
- You have experience in using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools and methodologies, including high-fidelity aerodynamic modeling, for aeroelastic or aeroservoelastic studies.
- You have experience in programming with MATLAB, Python, Fortran, or C/C++.
- You have knowledge of airworthiness requirements and flight quality criteria related to aeroelasticity and flight dynamics.
- You are eligible to obtain a Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) permit.
- You have excellent analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills, and are capable of working autonomously on complex technical challenges.
- You have good organizational skills to plan your work activities and deliver quality results on schedule.
- You have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in French and English.
