Our bakery department team is essential to Metro's overall success by being responsible for the day-to-day operations of its department and creating a positive customer experience!

Your responsibilities as a bakery assistant

• Receive and count merchandise intended for sale, such as bread, pastries, and any other products sold by your department, ordered by the manager or assistant manager, and ensure they are properly placed in the warehouse, refrigerator, or any other assigned storage area.
• Prepare bakery products, package, label, and display them on shelves according to department rules for sale.
• Bake bread.
• Perform price changes on shelves and, if necessary, on products in your department.
• If necessary, perform merchandise rotation on shelves and keep work areas clean.
• Be responsible for customer service in your department.
• Follow government food safety standards.
• Wear required safety equipment.
• Clean work areas and keep sales surfaces clean, such as counters and displays.
• Perform any other related tasks required by your immediate supervisor.

Experience
