This role is based at our office in Quebec.
The Financial Controller acts as a key financial leader, ensuring the reliability of financial information, internal controls, monthly closings, and support for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. As a strategic advisor to the CEO, they contribute to decision-making, operational efficiency improvement, profitability, compliance, and process optimization in a multi-entity environment. The person filling these roles will oversee a small team of accounting technicians to direct and mentor.

- As a Financial Controller, You Will
- Financial Information and Monthly Closing
- Review monthly financial statements and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial information
- Supervise monthly closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, provisions, and variance analyses
- Review balance sheet accounts and monitor key financial indicators
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and corporate procedures
- Maintain the integrity and consistency of financial data across different entities
- Support internal and external audits and prepare required documentation
- Participate in regulatory, tax, and government obligations
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of complex or non-recurring transactions
- Financial Management and Operations
- Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and working capital needs
- Support budgeting and financial forecasting processes
- Analyze actual financial results against budget and prior periods
- Supervise intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and transfer pricing activities
- Approve payments and support banking activities
- Monitor financial risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Participate in payroll review and approval processes
- Participate in grant applications and other government funding initiatives as required
- Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Supervise and support accounting technicians in their daily activities and professional development
- Ensure effective workload management and team coordination during monthly closings
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives for financial and operational processes
- Participate in ERP optimization and financial transformation initiatives (SAP S/4HANA)
- Collaborate with various corporate financial functions, including consolidation, tax, treasury, and FP&A team
- Contribute to corporate initiatives, process improvements, and ad-hoc projects

What makes you an asset to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA designation
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience in accounting and financial information
- Strong experience in managing the complete accounting cycle and monthly closing processes
- Experience in supervising or mentoring accounting staff considered an important asset
- Experience in an international and multi-entity environment considered an asset
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is an asset)
- Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment considered an asset
- Experience in an accounting firm considered an asset
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP standards (an asset)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership with a collaborative and pragmatic approach
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Autonomy, attention to detail, and results-oriented mindset
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is an asset)
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Flexibility in working hours, particularly during monthly closing periods.
