Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Technician will collaborate with the HR team members and have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Human Resources Advisor, participate in the staffing process: post job openings, sort through resumes, conduct telephone interviews, schedule pre-employment medical appointments, obtain references, verify background checks, write rejection letters, conduct interviews for various unionized positions, prepare files;
  • Plan, organize, perform, and manage internal job postings while adhering to established collective agreement processes;
  • Maintain employee files: record daily absences, authorized leaves, union releases, and vacations in an Access database;
  • Keep the training registry up-to-date;
  • Update the list of skills for unionized employees;
  • Process insurance changes via the online platform;
  • Record grievances in an Excel file;
  • Track employee reference bonuses;
  • Coordinate new employee training with managers;
  • Participate and represent the company at recruitment events, including schools and job fairs;
  • Produce various HR reports;
  • Conduct end-of-employment interviews;
  • Participate in the planning of the company's social activities;
  • Write various internal communications;
  • Perform filing;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the position.

Requirements

  • Hold a college diploma (AEC) in Human Resources Management or a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Administration, Human Resources profile, or equivalent;
  • Have 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Be proficient in French and have good English skills. English proficiency is required as the position may collaborate with employees based in Toronto;
  • Be familiar with computer tools (MS Office suite);
  • Have a strong sense of organization;
  • Be detail-oriented;
  • Show initiative and creativity;
  • Possess strong collaborative work skills.
