Join the Civil Aviation team at CAE as a Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager (QACM) Chief. In this role, you will lead the QACM team, including employees under your direct responsibility, and serve as a point of reference for compliance monitoring and QACM projects on behalf of the regional operational governance manager – EMEA.
This position supports CAE's global Aviation Safety and Governance (GSAG) framework and contributes to improving operational safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards across the organization. This hybrid position can be based at one of CAE's training centers in the UK or Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve regional and local quality assurance and compliance monitoring systems related to CAE's regulatory approvals, including aircrew regulations and, where applicable, continuous airworthiness.
- Support training center leadership teams in strengthening quality assurance, compliance monitoring, risk identification and mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and execute the globally approved annual quality assurance and compliance audit program to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Support the management and maintenance of applicable regulatory and industrial approvals for training activities and simulators in the assigned region.
- Contribute to maintaining organizational certification compliance and reducing organizational risks.
- Act as a holder or deputy holder, as required, for the assigned regions.
- Promote continuous improvement of quality assurance and compliance management systems in simulator training centers and flight training operations (ATO and FTO).
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities as well as internal and external stakeholders on quality assurance and compliance matters.
- Lead and support QACM projects contributing to the global safety, quality assurance, and compliance function's objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and improve procedures and work instructions to ensure global harmonization of quality assurance and compliance practices.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to QACM team members within compliance monitoring programs and strategic initiatives.
Minimum qualifications
- Experience as a qualified quality auditor.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and compliance monitoring frameworks.
- Knowledge of applicable ICAO/OACI, Transport Canada, FAR, CASA, EASA, and other national aviation authorities' regulations for the assigned region.
- Experience in implementing, managing, or coordinating quality management systems (QMS) and compliance monitoring systems (CMS) within training or airline organizations.
- Experience in analyzing complex issues related to quality assurance, compliance, operations, and technical aspects and developing recommendations.
- Experience collaborating with regulatory authorities and various internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and team management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a global environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in IOSA auditing.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and CMMI standards.
- Previous experience as a regulatory authority overseeing airlines or training organizations.
- Experience as a holder or deputy holder within an aeronautical organization.
- Experience in simulator training centers and flight training operations (ATO/FTO) environments.
