- Competitive salary starting at $27.95/hour, depending on experience.
- Temporary, full-time or part-time position.
- Areas: Boucherville, Ste-Julie, St-Amable, St-Bruno.
- Driver's license and vehicle required.
Under the supervision of the Personal Care Coordinator, the position holder is responsible for serving the organization's clientele by providing personal assistance services. The assistant accompanies beneficiaries in their daily activities to help them remain at home as long as possible.
Provide support for daily living activities such as: hygiene care, dressing, meal assistance, medication supervision, and secure accompaniment during movements and transfers. Also perform respite services for family caregivers.
- Perform hygiene care (partial or complete bathing, oral hygiene, incontinence pad changes, shaving, styling, etc.).
- Assist the client with dressing (removing or putting on clothes).
- Supervise medication intake (check name, date, time, proper route of administration, and correct medication).
- Assist with meal preparation and consumption (prepare and/or reheat simple meals, help the beneficiary eat and drink when necessary).
- Assist clients during their movements and transfers (go to the bathroom, sit or stand up, get out of bed, transfer from wheelchair to toilet, during bed or bath hygiene care, etc.).
- Use various equipment for client movements and transfers (wheelchair, walker, lift, etc.).
- Propose stimulating activities, games, or other relevant activities for the beneficiary's condition (card or board games, reading, knitting, music, puzzles, etc.).
- Become familiar with tasks to be performed with a new beneficiary by consulting the coordinator and client file summary.
- Inform the coordinator of any changes in the beneficiary's behavior/attitude or health status.
Skills
- Have access to a vehicle (required) for client visits
- Autonomy, empathy, respect, humanism, punctuality, and professionalism
- Recognized professional studies diploma in Personal Care Assistant
- Current First Aid-RCP training
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Personal Care Assistant or Family Caregiver
- Proficiency in French
- Enjoy interacting with the elderly to provide a quality service based on respect and compassion
