General Information
Unit Mandate: The Infrastructure Service manages computer servers, storage spaces, and development environments, while ensuring the management of client requests and the resolution of level 2 and 3 anomalies and incidents at the Sûreté du Québec.
Responsibilities: The incumbent ensures the availability of data from the Sûreté du Québec's departmental platform. To this end, they participate in the management, maintenance, evolution, and level 2 and 3 support of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL environments to ensure the efficiency and continuity of the services offered. If necessary, and on a rotational basis, with other team members, they provide 24/7 support. They analyze current and future system database issues and needs, and define the technological evolution strategy for the environments under their responsibility.
The information contained in these databases must be subject to increased protection. Therefore, the incumbent must evaluate, implement, and administer information security and confidentiality mechanisms. They monitor the performance of information systems and issue recommendations to keep them performing. They conduct solution research, pilot tests, and prepare proof of concept according to industry best practices. They write and update the technical documentation for all database systems.
The person provides advisory support to users of the systems and members of the Service to assist them in defining and updating their needs.
Telework/Presential: The position is hybrid (telework/presential). The framework policy on telework for public service personnel of the Treasury Board Secretariat applies.
- Work Location: 1701 rue Parthenais in Montreal or 1050 rue des Rocailles in Quebec.
Compensation: From $67,774 to $103,369 annually.

Job Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree (minimum 90 credits) in computer science or another relevant discipline.
A candidate who is in the process of completing the final year of the required degree program may be considered.
Each missing year of education can be compensated by one year of relevant education at the same or higher level as required. The required degree can also be compensated by a master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 45 credits.
For consideration, any education completed outside of Canada must be subject to a comparative evaluation (equivalence certificate) issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration.
- Possess Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority.
A person pending the proof of their permanent resident status or work permit may submit their application to this selection process. However, they must be authorized to work legally in Canada at the time of their appointment.
- Have appropriate French language skills for the functions.
Additional Job Requirements: Hold three years of experience in database administration activities, such as:
- Major database management system version migrations;
- Provide 24/7 support;
- Ensure data integrity; Install, configure, secure, update, and manage environments (dev, test, prod);
- Monitor overall performance, troubleshoot issues, optimize queries and indexes;
- Manage user access (authentication, roles, privileges);
- Assist developers in writing efficient queries;
- Automate repetitive tasks;
- Manage backups.

Other Desired Profile Elements that will be Considered as Assets: General knowledge of the development and operation of computer systems. Additionally, master methodological and technological knowledge as well as rules related to applications. More specifically:
