The Role

Join Moderna, advancing mRNA science to transform medicine.

Work with exceptional global teams on a broad pipeline and build a career that makes a real difference for patients.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the stability, performance, and reliability of Moderna's enterprise network infrastructure. As an individual contributor, you will support network operations in Canada and North America while collaborating with global teams to ensure operational excellence. Based in Laval with a hybrid work model, you will operate within a cutting-edge technological environment covering enterprise networking, cloud connectivity, cybersecurity technologies, and automation and generative AI tools that transform network operations.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure the daily operation, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, and performance issues at Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels, escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Support routing, switching, firewall, wireless, VPN, WAN circuit, CASB, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and cloud connectivity environments.
  • Perform initial triage, packet analysis, log examination, and root cause analysis of connectivity, latency, routing, firewall, DNS, DHCP, and application access issues.
  • Participate in changes, upgrades, configuration updates, and maintenance activities according to established change management processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational guides.
  • Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of network operations processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Monitor network availability, capacity, and performance using monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Respond promptly to alerts, identify service-impacting events, and coordinate network service restoration.
  • Analyze trends, metrics, and recurring incidents to recommend proactive improvements.
  • Collaborate with monitoring and infrastructure teams to enhance alert quality and critical service visibility.
  • Participate in incident management activities during network outages, service degradation, and critical events.
  • Contribute to post-incident analyses, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and problem management activities.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support essential network services outside regular working hours.
  • Collaborate with Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Internet Service Providers, Managed Service Providers, and other external vendors to resolve network issues.
  • Support vendor requests, circuit escalations, hardware replacement, and service disruption investigations.
  • Work closely with the Service Management team and stakeholders to support Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, change coordination, and operational reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders during incidents, maintenance activities, and service requests.
  • Collaborate with global teams supporting Canada and North America while contributing to the evolution of network technologies, automation, and AI-driven capabilities.
  • Key Mindsets Needed for Success in This Role:

We act with agility and versatility, driving both strategy and execution at every step.

We digitize wherever possible, leveraging the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.

What You Bring

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in network engineering, network operations, infrastructure support, or a related technical role.
  • Proficiency in both French and English due to interactions with teams, partners, and tools outside Quebec.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental networking principles, including TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, switching, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and basic network security concepts.
  • Practical experience supporting enterprise network environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, WAN circuits, and remote access technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, latency, routing, firewall policy, and application access issues.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols and network technologies such as OSPF, BGP, static routing, IPsec VPNs, SD-WAN, and high-availability network architectures.
  • Experience with network monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, ThousandEyes, LogicMonitor, PRTG, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with ITSM and ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global and multidisciplinary environment while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic context.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation to support essential network services.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, or other regulated enterprise environments.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, PCNSE, JNCIA, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Practical experience with Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, Aruba, F5, or comparable enterprise networking technologies.
  • Experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect, or similar network security platforms.
  • Knowledge of Prisma Access, SASE, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), secure remote access solutions, or cloud security network solutions.
  • Knowledge of CASB, SaaS application visibility, cloud application monitoring, or cloud security operations.
  • Experience analyzing firewall logs, network flow data, security alerts, and access control policy behavior.
  • Experience collaborating with vendors, Managed Service Providers, carriers, and global support teams.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Python, Ansible, APIs, or network automation tools is a plus.
