Responsibilities
- Perform compilation, review, and audit tasks; provide accounting and tax services.
- Prepare files for new clients and newly incorporated companies; manage multiple files simultaneously and conduct inventories.
- Conduct debtor, creditor, acquisition of fixed assets, disposal, and payroll tests with clients.
- Summarize the client's current financial situation by gathering information and preparing the balance sheet, income statement, and other relevant reports.
- Evaluate and ensure the appropriateness of evidentiary elements supporting charges, revenues, fixed asset acquisitions, creditors, debtors, and prepaid expenses.
- Examine and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial statements, documents, and reports.
- Prepare financial statements and prepare entries to be included in the accounts.
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports, summaries for clients, and presentations outlining observations, facts, and key points related to the mandate.
- Establish effective working relationships with clients; mentor and guide less experienced team members.
- Participate in prospecting projects and identify new business opportunities.
- Be willing to travel, if necessary.
Skills and Experience
- CPA designation
- 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
- Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Experience with accounting and tax software
- Understanding of business, accounting, management, and prospecting principles
